“Some things are hard to describe in words, it’s how one feels inside”

About Jason

Jason’s initial love for photography began in 2019 when he purchased his first camera. Born in the UK, he moved to Melbourne Australia at the age of 17. Whilst immigrating to Australia he was fortunate enough to travel through Cyprus in 1992, where he would witness the harsh reality of the 1974 Turkish Invasion. Famagusta would forever be remembered as the “ghost town”.

Three decades later whilst travelling through Samsun, Trabzon and Rize North Turkey, he discovered what can only be described as the deja vu moment. The memories of 1992 came flooding back as he recalled that very special moment where he was sitting on the bus as the local tour guide welled up, as she emotionally described her ordeal and the events that followed the invasion that took place in 1974 in Cyprus. Imagine being told this very moment, that you are to grab your worldly possessions and make a run for it?
